Television

Television is a system for transmitting visual images and sound electronically, primarily used for entertainment, information, and education. It delivers audio-visual content through various channels, allowing viewers to watch programs, films, news, and other content in real-time or through recorded formats. The technology consists of a television set, which displays the images and plays the sound, and a transmission component that sends the electrical signals carrying the content. Television can be broadcast via terrestrial, satellite, or cable means, and increasingly, content is distributed over the internet through streaming services. It has become a dominant medium for mass communication, influencing culture and society significantly since its widespread adoption in the 20th century. The term “television” also refers to the industry surrounding the production and broadcasting of these programs.
