International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study of the relationships and interactions between sovereign states, as well as between other significant global actors, such as international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and multinational corporations. It encompasses the analysis of how countries interact through diplomacy, conflict, trade, and cultural exchanges. IR examines the influences of political, economic, social, and environmental factors on global politics, focusing on issues such as security, power dynamics, international law, and human rights. Scholars in this field employ various theories—such as realism, liberalism, constructivism, and critical theories—to understand and explain global phenomena, foreign policy decisions, and the resolution of international conflicts. Ultimately, International Relations aims to provide insights into global governance, international cooperation, and the underlying principles that shape interactions on the world stage.
